A "report" from a Student (age 12)

Diane is a master of both music and the art of teaching; she transforms complex techniques into melodies of joy and creativity. With each note we explore, she unveils a world of music, blending passion with patience that inspires me. Each lesson becomes a journey where we discover not just music, but the heart of expression. Thanks Diane for being such a great person and a fabulous teacher.

I would thoroughly recommend Diane as a teacher. I am a mature beginner on the alto saxophone, and Diane has been guiding me towards playing improvisational jazz which is my main goal, while at the same time helping me with basic technique, sight reading and theory. Diane has a friendly and approachable personality with excellent communication skills. She has always had a flexible and adaptable approach to my lessons in order to focus on my particular needs. Diane clearly has a very strong background in many musical genres including classical and jazz, and I am sure she would be an excellent teacher for students of any age, looking towards either formal grade exams or recreational playing in any style of music.

Diane has inspired my son to love the saxophone and to love making music - what wonderful gifts. She always meets him where he is at and is so creative in finding ways to engage him, encourage him and find just the right level of challenge for him, so that he wants to learn more and enjoys his lessons immensely!

Diane is a gifted, effervescent and incredibly knowledgeable teacher with an infectious love of the craft. She is always happy to answer questions and genuinely cares about your understanding.

'An inspirational teacher! She has given my son all the tools needed to explore his own musicianship and maximise his technical skills. She is thoughtful, creative and flexible, adapting her approach to the needs of the individual. We feel very fortunate to have her.'

“Diane’s style of teaching is relaxed, fun, and at your pace. When I first started playing sax I had never played an instrument and couldn’t read music, now I can read and play! Diane has patience, calmness and is incredibly talented at teaching”

Diane has taught my daughter for 6 years, from a complete beginner to now nearly grade 5 on flute.  Diane's positivity, love of playing flute and real interest in her student means that lessons are always fun, achievable and rewarding.

I’ve been working with Diane for around 18 months. I’m a mature student, a beginner on the saxophone but with some musical knowledge. From the start her lessons have been interesting and practical. She is generous with her insight, pragmatic and patient with her expectations and unfailingly committed to me achieving my potential. I really enjoy our lessons and feel confident I am in the hands of an accomplished musician and teacher. It is a pleasure to be learning with her
