Diane Arthurs in Purple Hat

DISAX
Musician

Music, for me, has always been about connection. Based in Gloucestershire, I play tenor and baritone sax and feel lucky to share the stage with close friends and family.

You’ll find me performing with the Cygnet Quartet and Duo, as well as working with the Splanky Saxophone Quartet and as a freelance musician. Whatever the setting, my focus is the same: shaping the right atmosphere, from intimate jazz ballads to lively Latin grooves.

DISAX
Artist

My art is where the rhythms of music and life take a different form. Working mainly with paint and ink, I create visual improvisations that explore the energy of the world around us—from its natural beauty to its inherent absurdity.

In my Gloucestershire studio, I translate the spontaneity of a jazz performance into colour and line. For me, it is another way to share a story.

DISAX
Educator

Teaching is where my love for music comes full circle. Based in my Gloucester studio, I offer a supportive space for students of all ages to find their own voice on the saxophone, flute, or through music theory.

Whether you are picking up an instrument for the first time or looking to refine your technique, my approach is personal and patient. My goal is to help you build confidence and discover the same joy in playing that has stayed with me throughout my career
